Fall has arrived, and there are still fun ways to enjoy it in the community while keeping safe social distance.
1. English Village Fall Fling

Join English Village merchants for an evening of shopping and more! Sales will run through the weekend.
2. Virtual Pink Up the Pace 2020
Oct. 1-31
Support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama’s breast cancer research by running during the month of October. You can sign up for a time challenge, a distance challenge, or a 1-mile bike and scooter fun run, all offered virtually. The registration fee also includes a T-shirt. Tickets are $30 for adults (ages 13+) and $20 for children (ages 4-12), and children 3 and under are free. Get tickets at bcrfa.org/upcoming-events/.
3. Shop Save & Share

Shops Throughout Mountain Brook and Birmingham
We’re all about an excuse to shop for a good cause, and you can’t beat the Junior League of Birmingham’s Shop Save & Share fundraiser. A digital or printed Shop Save & Share card costs $40, and then you receive a 20 percent at more than 400 participating businesses—including many in Mountain Brook. You can purchase and download a card at ShopSaveandShare.net or at select retailers.
4. The Fall Edit
Thursday, October 22 | 5-7:30 p.m.
Shops of Lane Parke
Come out to shop during extended hours and listen live music from Derek Day at this free, family-friendly event. There will be an bar and pop-ups including one from The House Plant Collective too. The evening will kick off with ribbon cuttings for Post Office Pies, Sol Y Luna and Carriage House weddings.
5. Grace House Pumpkin Festival
Saturday, Oct. 24 | 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Mountain Brook Community Church Parking Lot
This annual event is moving to a “drive-thru” model festival to keep safe in COVID-19. Tickets, $25/vehicle, include tow pumpkins loaded straight into your car, a pumpkin decorating kit, access to drive-thru activities, and a yard sign you can display to let everyone know you’re supporting Grace House and girls in foster care this fall! Additional pumpkins can be added on to your purchase for just $5 per pumpkin. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or day-of at the festival and benefit Grace House’s homes for 38 Alabama girls in foster care on its residential campus in Fairfield. 6. Trunk-or-Treat
Sunday, October 25 | 4-6 p.m.
Mountain Brook Baptist Church
Put on your Halloween costumes and drive through a display of trunks in the lower parking lot of the church off Overbrook Road to collect candy and other prizes! In event of rain, the event will move to the covered entrances of the church, so you’ll still be able to drive through the trunk display.
7. Stories on the Lawn
Tuesdays | 10 a.m.
Lawn Outside the O’Neal Library
Kids ages birth to 4K are invited to reserve a spot for storytime on the grass across from the library. If it rains, the storytime will resume the next Tuesday. Register and find more programs on the library’s website.

This annual Junior League of Birmingham holiday shopping event is moving online follow COVID-19 safety precautions. With the purchase of a $15 General Admission ticket, you get access to its virtual marketplace with more than 50 stores from across the nation Tuesday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 22. Virtual events will also be held throughout the week. Proceeds from Market Noel go back into the community through the JLB’s 40 community projects benefiting women and children in need.
