HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We met at church in 2017 when we were both interning for the youth group. We grew up going to the same church but never really talked since Wes is two years older than me. Fast forward five years, and our boss from our internship married us at Canterbury United Methodist Church.
THE PROPOSAL
We got engaged in Oxford, Mississippi, in front of the Lyceum. I went to school at Ole Miss, and that campus has always been a special place for me. I was there for a music and art festival called “Double Decker,” and Wes surprised me on his way to a baseball game for the sweetest proposal ever. I did not see it coming at all.
WEDDING DRESS DETAILS
I spontaneously made an appointment at Anne Barge in Atlanta while visiting family. I went in, not expecting to buy a dress. I just wanted to try a few on to see what I liked and what looked good. To my surprise, I used the skirt and fabric of the very first dress I tried on. With a little bit of help from the Anne Barge team, we designed the dress of my dreams from there. There were so many details I wanted to go into my dress, and somehow, Anne Barge was able to make all of them happen. The bow, slit, pockets and jacquard fabric perfectly complemented each other.
WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE
If I could give a bride-to-be any piece of advice, it would be to take mental pictures throughout the entire wedding-planning process, especially on the wedding day. These moments will be captured by so many people, but those are all taken from their point of view. I think it’s important to remember to take mental pictures from your point of view.
