It’s the sweetest month of the year, and that carries over into consignment sales, a library book sale and more. Here find all the details on these plus more Mountain Brook events happening in February.
1. Family Night

Jungle adventure critters are coming! All ages are invited to come out for a night of fun, with dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. and the show at 6 p.m.
2. Electra Light Community Ukulele Orchestra
Feb. 12 | 5-6 p.m.

Come learn a song with Andrew Hollywood. Bring your own uke or borrow one.
3. Birmingham Camellia Show
Saturday, Feb. 15 | 1-4 p.m.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Brighten your wintry days, and come out and see some of Birmingham’s best camellia blooms. The species originated in Asia, but today we have more than 200 species in North America. To learn more about the flower visit americancamellias.com.
4. Sweet Repeats Consignment Sale
Feb. 21-22
Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-noon
Mountain Brook Community Church Gym
Stock up on your kids’ wardrobes for spring and summer at reasonable prices at this sale held every February and September. Plus, proceeds support the church’s short-term mission trips to places such as San Diego, Peru, Hungary, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Consignors receive 75 percent of the selling price, and 25 percent goes to MBCC Missions. Many items will be half price on Saturday.
5. Friends of the Emmet O’Neal Library Book Sale
Feb. 21-23
Friday & Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 1-4 p.m.
Emmet O’Neal Library
Find some new reads for 2020 at this annual sale to benefit our favorite library. Friends of the Emmet O’Neal Library accepts book donations throughout the year to sell at this event, and you can drop them off at the back door of the library. There’s also a preview party Thursday, Feb. 20 6-8 p.m. for Preview Party for anyone who donates $25 or more.

Children’s Arts Guild Fashion Show Luncheon
Tuesday, March 3
Country Club of Birmingham
Come out to see 100 children model whimsical party wear, heirloom Easter attire, and sportswear and resort casual at this annual luncheon. The Children’s Arts Guild, founded in 1975, supports The Dance Foundation and its outreach in the community that reaches more than 2,000 students in 27 schools and child development centers annually.
Village 2 Village Run
March 14
You can run through your favorite villages and neighborhoods with around 1,000 of your neighbors and friends, so start training now. Plus, there will be chocolate-dipped strawberries, mimosas and more on the other side of the finish line at the after party in Lake Parke. Not feeling the 10K?
