1. Mountain Brook Presbyterian Farmers Market

Find produce, fruits, eggs, meats and honey without venturing far from home on Saturday mornings, plus shop the works of artisans and other vendors. It will run through Aug. 25.
2. Spartan Day Breakfast
Monday, Aug. 5 | 7:45 a.m.
Mountain Brook Baptist Church
All rising seventh graders are invited to attend a breakfast at Mountain Brook Baptist before Spartan Day starts at MBJH. The breakfast and devotional time is free for anyone in the community, and no sign-up is needed. For any in the community who aren’t students at MBJH, the church will make sure they get a ride home. 3. Shades Valley Presbyterian Church Farmer’s Market
Wednesday, Aug. 7 | 3-6 p.m.
2305 Montevallo Road
Stop by after work to stock up on fresh veggies at this market conveniently located right outside Mountain Brook Village on Montevallo Road. This will be the last market night of the summer 2019 season.
4. Crestline Tent Sales

Crestline Village Shops
Find sales and more sales in tents and inside your favorite Crestline Village stores—kind of like Crestline’s version of Market Day.
5. Birmingham Restaurant Week
Aug. 16-25
Various Participating Restaurants

6. Boiling ‘n Bragging

Otey’s Tavern
You don’t have to wait for Labor Day to tailgate. Wear your team’s colors and come out for a low country boil plus live music, drink specials and kids’ activities. 7. MBHS Football Games
Fridays, Aug. 23+30 | 7 p.m.
Spartan Stadium
Bring on the Friday night lights. Mountain Brook High School’s Varsity football team is kicking of the season with two home games, first against Northridge then against Center Point. Don your green and gold, and we’ll see you there.
8. Equal Access Birmingham Heart + Sole 5K
Saturday, Aug. 24 | 8 a.m.
Crestline Elementary School
Come out and brave the heat to support Equal Access Birmingham, a UAB student-run free clinic that serves the uninsured and underinsured in the greater Birmingham community. It also provides a meaningful, service-learning experience to augment medical education at the UAB School of Medicine. Find event details and registration here.
9. State of the State Address Chamber Luncheon

What is going on in Alabama government? The Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce is hosting state Representative Jim Carns, Representative David Faulkner, Senator Dan Roberts and Senator Jabo Waggoner for updates on the state of the state. Get tickets here.
10. Founders Place Presents: Patti Callahan Henry
Tuesday, Aug. 27 | 5:30 p.m.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
Come out to hear bestselling author Patti Callahan Henry speak about her new novel and how it explores the power of memory and the meaning of family in the face of a dementia diagnosis. Miller Piggott, executive director of Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama, will also give opening remarks. Tickets, $35, include a wine and cheese reception and signed copy of The Favorite Daughter, and they benefit Founders Place, a memory loss respite ministry.
