How We Met
Conner and I (Brucie) first met Labor Day weekend in Atlanta during our sophomore year of college at the University of Alabama. We randomly ended up getting a ride from Atlanta back to Tuscaloosa with a mutual friend. A few weeks later Conner got my phone number at a fraternity party and asked me on a date. We dated for six years before he popped the question!
The Proposal
Conner proposed to me at my family beach house on Soldier Creek in Perdido Beach, Alabama. It was freezing cold outside, and I had already been on a walk with my sister. Conner kept trying to get me to come outside, and finally I reluctantly went down to our dock with him. He got down on one knee and proposed. We then went back up to the house and popped champagne, and both of our families were there to help us celebrate. I was shocked and was not expecting him to propose that weekend!
The Dress
I got my wedding dress from the store my cousin Caroline Eades owns, Carriage House Weddings. I used to work there during my summers in high school and college. I ended up finding a dress I never would have imagined wearing, but fell in love with.
Favorite Moment
For the first look, I did not know what to expect, but when he turned around and saw me, it was a very special moment. Our photographer captured some of my favorite pictures from this!
Favorite Details
Handley Breaux Designs and Marigold Design did an amazing job transforming the reception space. I wanted a unique garden party theme. They truly made this vision come true with the antique chandeliers and greenery above the bar, custom lattice stage and bar, and beautiful green and white flowers surrounding the room. It truly was such a magical night!
