How We Met
Will and I (Dani) met in Spanish class at MBHS, where thanks to our last names, my assigned seat was directly in front of his. Will and a friend kept tally marks each time they made me laugh, but funnily enough, Will did not win this game. He now says that he may have lost the battle but he won the war.
The Proposal
In July 2020, Will and I escaped to Highlands, North Carolina, for a weekend in the mountains. During an early morning hike at Glenn Falls, Will set up a GoPro, walked me over to the top of the waterfall, dropped to his knee and pulled out a ring. A roaring waterfall, mountain views, blue skies and a new fiancé made it a moment to remember forever.
Favorite Moment
Our first look! When I saw Will standing in his tux with his back facing me, any nerves were quickly replaced by pure excitement, happiness and peace. In this moment, we exchanged letters and rejoiced that our wedding day, the beginning of our life together as the Deers, was finally here. As Will says, this was not the best day ever, but instead, the best day yet.
Favorite Details
Buffy Hargett’s floral arrangements blew me away, and our band, Compozitionz, was so amazing that we never left the dance floor. The red velvet Liverpool stadium groom’s cake was a hit, and since Will and I live in Texas, light-up cowboy hats made the perfect addition to the dance floor. Last but not least, Will and I shared one private last dance, which gave us a few final minutes to soak in the joy and beauty of our wedding day.
What We Are Doing Now
Will and I are now settling into our first home together in Dallas and are excited for the adventures and memories to come.
