Suzan Doidge

What are the former Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director’s favorite spots around town? Well, wonder no more.

Eat Local

Favorite Fine Dining and Fast Casual Eateries

I have so many favorite restaurants. Some “white table cloth” eateries I enjoy are Civitas,  Vino, Dyron’s Lowcountry and Daniel George. Several fast-casual joints I frequent include Taco Mama, Otey’s Tavern, Gilchrist and Ouslers. Pictured are some family friends and me at Civitas.

Get Outdoors

Jemison Park

I go to Jemison Park almost every weekend to walk with different friends. I don’t think there is another place like it in the U.S. Every season is beautiful. The city and friends of Jemison Park have done an excellent job taking care of nature right here in town.

Community Gatherings

The Mountain Brook Holiday Parade

I love the holiday parade because it brings the entire community together at the best time of the year. I especially love the effort that the city goes through to make Mountain Brook look the best during the season. I love seeing all of the photos taken in front of the Bromberg’s tree. I wonder how many people have gotten engaged in front of that tree!

Sentimental Places

The Dedicated Park Bench

A new favorite spot of mine is the bench that the chamber members and the Leadership Mountain Brook class dedicated to me at City Hall. Frequently, I get photos of friends sitting on the bench. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Serving the Community

Celebrity Bartending at Civitas

Being a celebrity bartender at Civitas to raise money for the Mountain Brook Merchant Relief Fund is so much fun! It’s a great way to serve the community, too.
